Review: Nomad iPhone 8 Leather Cases

Having been rocking with the brand new iPhone 8 Plus for about a month now, it is getting boring that old iPhone 7 Plus cases being used on this new phone, and it simply does not feel good. There are tons of options in the market that claimed that their old iPhone 7 / 7 Plus cases are no longer compatible with the new phone and released basically the exact case without modifying anything with a mark-up price.

But Nomad has made it right that they are not tricking their customers in this way for their iPhone case line-ups. Thanks to the sponsors from Nomad again, we will be taking a refreshed look at their iPhone 7 / 8 / Plus Leather Cases.

Nomad iPhone 8 Cases

Cases featured in this review:

The Leather Case

My comments hold up since the previous review done in July. The leather did grow over time and faster than I expected and experienced with Apple’s genuine Saddle Brown leather case. In addition, the cases are compatible with both iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, as well as the Plus models. That means you can still use your current Nomad cases for your new iPhone.

To supplement with the previous review, for those who are interested to know, the Nomad Leather Case looks more similar to the older generation Apple Leather Case that does not have the tactile buttons for the power button and volume rocker. But it is better in the way that it has full protection for the lower end of the phone that it covers the speaker grills properly. For the rest, the Nomad and Apple Cases are basically the same with very good level of preciseness in terms of cutouts for camera and ports.

Upon this review, we tried out another popular color option of leather iPhone cases and looks superb with the new gold iPhone 8 / 8 Plus. A picture is worth a thousand words. So I am going to save thousands of words with the pictures below:

Leather Folio Wallet

I am not frequently using a Folio Case for my iPhone in past years but I start loving it since the day I am required to travel a lot over the past few months and the near future. The Nomad Leather Folio Case is basically one of the best choices out there that fits my need for business trips and professional image objective.

The Nomad Leather Folio Case comes with a slightly bigger packaging as the case itself is wider and taller than normal snap-on cases. The case is well-composed by big pieces of Horween leather. The smell is decently pleasant. The design is minimalistic, and the credit pockets are well stitched onto the outer case. The microfiber lining cushions your phone and semi-rigid TPE edges keep it protected from drops.

The Rustic Brown leather is definitely one of the best companion with the new gold iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Click on the album above to enlarge the image so you can see the very fine detail of the Nomad Leather Folio Case.

Clear Leather Case

Last but not least, along with the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Nomad also releases a new design not only that you can enjoy edge-to-edge protection to your new iPhones, but also show off the new iPhone color and beautiful glass-back the transparent window at the back, without losing style and premium feeling with a thin piece of tanned Horween Leather the cover the lower end.

This has turned to be my favorite iPhone case right away that I have been using for over a week already. The rubber TPE bumper surrounding all sides of the iPhone is very grippy and comfortable to hold. The case also raises a bit so your iPhone screen and camera bump will be protected against drops and corner hits. Check out the close-up images below so you can understand better how cool this case is:
